For Missouri taxpayers, a new tax credit is available for those who make eligible contributions to these certified educational assistance organizations. The program is called the Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program, MOScholars, and it funds scholarship accounts for qualified Missouri students. The MOScholars tax credit is equal to 100% of eligible donations of $500 or more, with donations being accepted now. More information about this credit can be found on this page of the Missouri Treasurer’s website. If you have questions regarding whether this tax credit would be beneficial for you, speak with your tax professional.
