Charitably inclined individuals aged 70.5 or older may benefit from making Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) directly from their traditional IRA. QCDs are a great tax planning tool, allowing individuals to support the charities they love in a tax efficient manner. For 2025, an individual can donate up to $108,000 to one or more charities through QCDs.
We created a flowchart that addresses common questions pertaining to Qualified Charitable Distribution rules including age, distribution limits, qualified charitable recipients, reporting process, and more.
